Do you know that you could be saving
$1,370 per PC over a 3 year period?
A study by Gartner (The leading IT research firm) found a computer running Windows XP costs on average about $5309 to maintain over a 3 year period. The same cost for a PC with our OptiCare Plan could cost as low as $3939 dollars for the same 3 years. A large part of those savings has to do with proactive management - the foundation of our OptiCare Plan.

Can Your Business Even Survive?
"93% of companies that lost their data center for 10 days or more due to a disaster filed for bankruptcy within one year of the disaster. 50% of businesses that found themselves without data management for this same time period filed for bankruptcy immediately." (Source: National Archives and Records Administration in Washington.)
What would it cost your business to lose your critical data? To not have access to email for 2-3 days? One of our customers, before they hired us, had a complete server crash and was not able to access their data or email for an entire week. Their old IT service provider hit them with a repair bill for $8,882 to get them back up and running. The cost of their 35 employee office not being able to access their email and files was estimated at approximately $15,750, to be very conservative. That was a total loss of $24,632! And, of course, that’s not factoring in soft costs like the negative perception to their clients that was created.
Under OptiCare, this disaster would have been avoided. How do I know this? When we are proactively monitoring, maintaining and managing your servers, we’re able fix small problems before they escalate into a disaster like this. But let’s say that this case was an anomaly and the server crash was truly unavoidable ... under OptiCare you get our complete backup and disaster recovery solution where if your server crashes like this we will restore it in 2 hours or less - guaranteed!
A Simple Virus Can Easily Cost You $10,560....
You would have to be living in a bubble not to understand the importance of protecting your computers and critical data from being infected by a virus, but have you ever considered why? That is, what the monetary costs would be to your business if it ever happened to you?
Most small businesses do not fully understand the cost and consequences of downtime due to something as seemingly small as a virus. To calculate the cost of network downtime caused by a virus, there are many factors to take into account:
- Lost sales opportunities
- Idling employees
- Damage to your reputation with existing customers
- Repair and restoration costs
- Potentially devastating damages from a data breech
There are sophisticated formulas that calculate the exact costs to your business for each hour of downtime, but let’s just use some simple math here to elicit the point.
The average labor cost in the USA is $23 an hour for non-professionals and $45 per hour for professionals. A virus infection could take anywhere from 4 to 24 hours or longer to fix.
If your system goes down for 24 hours and you have 10 employees - mixed with professionals and non-professionals, the cost looks like this:
24 hours of downtime x 23 dollars an hour x 5 employees = $2760
24 hours of downtime x 45 dollars an hour x 5 employees = $5400
The typical computer repair fees for 24 hours of work = $2400
Total = $10,560
This scenario does not take into account lost sales, employee morale, nor damage to existing customers and your reputation. It also does not consider the cost of a data breech.
Yeah, but what are the chances that would happen to us?
In September 2008 the (ISS) Space station was infected with the eFlux virus. A spokesperson explained: "We continually refine and update our procedures and do our best to protect the systems on the station," Humphries said. She also added that security would be tightened up. "Our Expedition 17 crew on the station is working with flight control and engineering teams and with our international partners to identify and eradicate the virus that’s on board and we’ll look for any actions we can take to prevent that from happening again." NASA says the ISS systems are completely protected from the bug but the laptops do connect through ISS’s KU band data link. (See http://government.zdnet.com/?p=3972)
Now if NASA is getting bugs on the ISS (International Space Station) through a laptop, know that this can happen to anybody at any time!
